Blake and Heather’s love story began in the heart of Kona, Hawaii—where a night out led to a lifelong connection.
In 2019 Blake was living in Kona working on the family coffee farm and Heather was on a group trip with friends. They met at a local bar where Blake’s friend, Shannon, was DJing (and who will also be spinning tunes at their wedding!). Their conversation sparked something special, and just a few days later, Heather visited Blake’s coffee farm, joining him and his friends for a relaxed BBQ. From that point on, the two were inseparable. For the remainder of her trip, Heather and Blake enjoyed paddleboarding, swimming with wild dolphins, and memorable moments shared with friends.
After Heather returned to Vancouver, their connection only grew stronger. Daily WhatsApp messages, phone calls, and virtual date nights kept their bond alive across the Pacific. In May 2019, Blake booked Heather a flight back to Hawaii—and from there, their relationship blossomed into something serious.
Throughout their long-distance journey, Blake and Heather made every effort to stay connected—visiting each other as often as possible. Blake traveled to Canada twice, celebrating her 30th birthday alongside her closest friends. Heather in turn, flew back to Kona every chance possible, helping out with coffee harvests and even milling and hand sorting beans.
In early 2020, the couple traveled together to Melbourne, where Heather stayed to begin her Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at the University of Melbourne. Blake returned to Hawaii to wrap up work on the farm with plans to join her soon after—but the pandemic had other plans. With global borders closed, Blake and Heather endured two more years of long-distance love.
Finally, in December 2021, they reunited in Melbourne and have been living together ever since. Both have completed their studies and launched their careers—Heather as a full-time physiotherapist at Royal Melbourne Hospital, and Blake as a project manager at Seven Consulting. They’ve built a happy home in Port Melbourne with their beloved cat, TimTam, and continue to support each other as they navigate life together.
Now, they’re thrilled to return to where it all began—Kona, Hawaii—to celebrate their wedding with the people they love most.
